California Assistive Technology Training

Wayfinder’s Assistive Technology Training Program is available to Southern and Northern California adults, ages 18 and older, who are blind or visually impaired. Program attendees receive instruction and device training in the latest assistive technology and software for success in today’s job market.

Following an initial assessment, our staff develop a plan to guide each client to his or her unique goals. With one-to-one teaching, clients receive assistive technology training on the most popular assistive technology hardware and software, as well as on-the-job support and worksite accessibility assessments. Assistive technology instruction is available in English and Spanish.

Southern California assistive technology services include training in the state-of-the-art technology lab at Wayfinder’s Los Angeles campus, plus assessments of accessibility at worksites within a 10-mile radius of the campus. Our Northern California services include in-home assistive technology training.

Participation in our Assistive Technology Training is at the discretion of and requires approval from the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR).
