The People: This familiar photo includes Ken (left) and Leonard (right) in a famous shot by Doug Wilson called The Blind Are Also Color Blind.

The Moment: Taken at Camp Bloomfield in the Santa Monica Mountains, this photograph hung briefly in the White House during President Johnson’s administration and was circulated internationally. It became a symbol for the civil rights movement in the 1960s.
