Meet Whitney Baugher Member of the Community Council

I want to make an impact

Whitney Baugher is a new member of the Community Council in Sacramento. She’s a Banking Center Manager for Community West Bank. A Sacramento native, she loves that her job allows her to be more involved with her community.

But she wanted more opportunities to become involved in the community. And that’s when her friend, Lindsey Fudge, introduced her to Wayfinder. (Lindsey is also on Wayfinder’s Community Council.) She learned about the work Wayfinder does in Sacramento, especially with foster youth. The trauma so many of these young people experience touched her heart. Knowing she could have an impact really spoke to her.

“When somebody is put into the system… that can be traumatic. They’re often forgotten. Their lives have been totally upended and they don’t have much of an opportunity to choose their situation or change it. So I saw this as an opportunity to get involved with something that matters, something that could make a huge impact on our youth and their future. I’m relatively new to the Community Council, and I’m really excited.”

She also loves Wayfinders adoption services, because she’s had friends become adoptive parents and knows how difficult the process can be.

Whitney feels her job as a Council member is to get out into the community and spread the word about Wayfinder. Whitney is married, with two cats. And she’s an avid Sacramento Kings fan.
