Mental Health Issues and Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, and Physically Disabled Populations
The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health’s ACCESS FOR ALL Underserved Cultural Communities commitee is offering a one-day, six (6) hour training ideal for LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Licensced or Registered Nurses, license-waived clinical disciplines, and other providers of mental health services and supports for individuals with disabilities. This training is NASW approved for participants to receive four (4) CEUs.
Trainings will provide information specific to providing mental health treatment, services and supports to people with disabilities:
- Client’s rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act rights and client advocacy
- Culturally relevant best practices for working with clients with disabilities
- Resources to help clients access and use Assitive Technologies
- Reducing barriers to access mental health services in Los Angeles County
