Wayfinding Technology by Waymap

Participants Needed: Try New & Exciting Accessible Wayfinding Technology by Waymap

  • Waymap’s navigation app guides you indoors and outdoors and is built for anyone. It provides step-by-step guidance to your destination.
  • Work with certified orientation and mobility specialists. Free lunch available, participation is one day for approximately four hours.
  • Travel stipends available. All activities will be held outdoors to maximize safety, and all LACDPH guidelines will be followed.

Who’s Eligible?

  • Age 18 or older;
  • Meeting the legal definition of blindness:
    • Visual acuity 20/200 or less in the better seeing eye with best correction; OR
    • Visual field 20 degrees or less in the better seeing eye.
  • Must be able to ambulate a distance of approximately 800 feet using your preferred mobility aids, including white canes, support canes, walkers, wheelchairs, guide dogs, etc. Orientation and mobility supervision will be on site.

When: Dates will be determined in spring 2021 as we monitor safety recommendations from LACDPH, please contact us to register and we will confirm dates once set.

Where: The Loyola Marymount University Los Angeles Campus outdoor areas.
